Our mission is to create a daily practice to live a life that is enormous. We do this through our Teacher Training Program, Class Philosophies and Studio Schedule. The TurF schedule is designed to give the body everything that it needs throughout the week to be able to perform at our best. We run our schedule like a program (Mondays is meta, Tuesdays is Strength, Wednesdays is CORE, etc) so that we push on the right days and rest when we need it, and get a fully balanced workout week.  

Our teachers are trained to lead class in such a way that our students have opportunities to learn and see more about themselves than just the physical.  We call this transformational sweat and supports our mission of creating a daily practice to live a life that is enormous.  

TurF’s Teacher Training Program will be kicking off this February 2023, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about movement and cultivating an experience through music, movement and breath.

meta training

dates: Friday February 3rd-Sunday February 5th + Saturday February 18th-Sunday February 19th

time commitment: 14 hours of training, plus 4-16 hours of practice teaching based on teaching experience and additional class attendance required

investment: $400, including a teaching manual and 2 months of unlimited TurF classes

meta is a signature TurF class designed to move the body physically and energetically, work the heart and lungs and increase endurance. Elevated by a curated and energizing playlist, we move to the beat of the music. Expect heart pumping cardio sequences to evoke a cathartic release. You'll leave feeling more open and uplifted.

This training will teach and support our trainees in understanding the fundamentals of building and executing a successful meta class. We will gain a deep understanding of why this class was built, what it does for both the body and mind and how to create a strong, successful and safe class.  
Expect an interactive and supportive experience. Previous teaching of 1+ year(s) is required for this training.

core training

time commitment: 14 hours of training, plus practice teaching based on teaching experience and additional class attendance required.  

investment: $400, includes a teaching manual and CORE props to take home (squish ball, loop band), and 2 months of unlimited TurF classes

CORE is a no-impact Pilates-inspired mat class designed to lengthen and strengthen. Think of this as a tune up for your body: we focus on stability, mobility, core connection, and a full body burn using bodyweight and equipment. All movement is guided by breath, to encourage maximum activation and a soothed nervous system. This class is ideal for all levels, as sequences layer and build in intensity.

This training will lay the groundwork for how to build and teach a successful CORE class. We will explore how to manage music and build playlists, how to develop an intelligent sequence and offer variations, language to assist in cueing and cultivating a unique experience, and tools to elevate your teaching skills. 

Expect an interactive and supportive experience – previous training is encouraged, and/or experience participating in CORE as a student for 6+ months.
